Security camera in a resort

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

IMG_3985What does this security camera doing up in the tree facing the swimming pool in one of the resorts in Samal Island? It’s our first time to see a security camera outdoors specifically in a resort so Ace didn’t miss to take a photo of it. We’re just amazed at the resort owner’s initiative to have it installed there to have a record of what’s going on in the swimming pool and the huge slide. For sure there are other security cameras installed in other areas so the management can monitor what’s happening in the whole area by just watching the CCTV monitors in their office. Nice idea! Kodus to the resort owner for this.

Function and style

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

In all things, I am a fan of function and style. It couldn’t be style alone because I don’t find fancy things that functional. From the bags, to my clothes, to my footwears, to kitchen stuffs and others, I want something stylish yet functional. So when we have our own little abode, I will dress up our little palace with the kind of things that me and Ace are fond of. like the ever stylish Grohe faucets I saw online. It’s not a fancy faucet but it serves it purpose. Glad my husband has the same taste as mine so I don’t have to seek approval everytime I want something.

BlueGre coffee’s christmas cups

IMG_3262

My second time to try BluGre coffee (because I nor Ace are not coffee addicts and won’t spend a hundred of pesos just for a coffee) was during our get-together with my HS classmates last month. Since it’s Christmas, they also have a especially designed cups for the season which I find cute.

More of Ruby Tuesday here.

Being just practical

Saturday, January 2nd, 2010

Never had planned to get a life insurance. Better get a memorial plan, I guess.LOL. Getting an insurance is just like putting your money in the bank without interest and yet you are not sure if your beneficiaries could claim it in whole or in part should you die because insurance have SO MANY exclusions in their policy. Oh well, they’re just making sure they get more money than you!hahaha. One permanent exclusion in life insurance is death due to illness (right?). Thus, I dreaded the thought of going through series of medical examinations before you could get a life insurance policy. However, there are no exam life insurance available in the insurance market today so that’s one thing that people will consider in choosing between insurance companies. This must be something worth to reconsider. Will think about this, that is, if it still wise and practical to get a life insurance nowadays.

Just being curious

If seawater could easily rust steel, that gives work to hundreds or thousands of people just removing the rust in the ships and other sea vessels, I wonder what’s being used to store the water inside the ships. I have no idea if stainless steel could also be rust-proof after being exposed in a salty environment so with the stainless steel drums that could possibly be used to store potable water. Hmmm…I’d better ask the people who are working in a ship to make things clear. Who knows, I might be able to use that “knowledge” in the future.
