Piece of Mine

After sunset

Sky Watch time! Took this photo from our place. There’s no way I could get rid of the banana leaves from the view. If only those are ours, I would cut it so I could see the sunset without going to my favorite sunset spot. After-sunset colors like this are my favorite.

It’s Tuesday once again! My entry for this week speaks for itself. I guess I don’t need to elaborate on it because it obviously conveys the message. This was taken in one of our godfather’s family-owned resort in Talicud Island in Davao del Norte.

CDL training

Trucking is one of the good businesses nowadays. With the geographical location of the fruit plantations to the ports and the expansion of the banana, pineapple and other produce in the region, many are investing on a trucking business as it brings in good money, I presume. But the risk is too high as the truckers will shoulder any damage incurred on the products considering that produce for imports costs thousands of $$$ per container van. Hence, drivers for this business needs to undergo an intensive CDL training. The module is simply designed for trainees to learn how to drive a commercial vehicle such as trailer or tractor. I just don’t know if trucking or forwarding companies require their drivers to undergo CDL training. I hope so.

Coelenterate

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Last weekend, we went to Isla Reta Beach Resort, Talicud Island. While we’re having an early morning swim at the beach, Donald (my BIL) and Ace found sea creature….it’s a coelenterate! And no, not only one but they found three. So far, this is the biggest of them all. I took photos of it in the sand and put them back in the water after.

Pop up TV

Friday, September 26th, 2008

TV has been my companion when I am left alone here and I enjoy watching my favorite Mexican telenovela in the afternoon but I don’t watch that much. Sometimes, I find programs in Studio 23 very entertaining so I switch on between ABS-CBN and Studio 23. In one of the programs earlier, I have seen a plasma TV mounted on a cabinet. It actually looks like this. I was Photobucket

curious what it is called, how it was mounted and what is the purpose of the cabinet. Mr. Google said that is a pop up tv . Does it really pop up from inside the cabinet as the name implies? If that is so, I think it’s cute. Isn’t it? If we can afford to have a pop up TV in the future, I would love to have one.
